The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. To Middle Earth. One last time.

Battle Of The Five Armies is the third and last installment to the Hobbit franchise and possibly our last visit to the world of Tolkein.

So the dwarves now have Erebor and all is good.Just kidding. The Mountain has a lot of wealth and everyone wants it.On the other hand,Sauron seems to be returning and Gandalf and Galadriel aren't pleased.Oh,did I mention there's an angry dragon on a fiery rampage.

That expression really suits Maritn.
Pretty much all of the movie takes place in or around the Lonely Mountain. It's just waves of characters all coming at one place. Now,I didn't mind the way Legolas was put to use in the Desolation of Smaug but for me, this movie spent too much time on his and Tauriel's characters.Even the Kili-Tauriel romance which I thought was going somewhere concluded in a way that I didn't really care as much anymore.

Other than that,I must say, the characters are awesome.I loved Bard, all the dwarves were pretty much likeable(though, not quiet memorable) and then--BILBO BAGGINS.There were some scenes with Bilbo which reminded me why I loved Martin Freeman's casting. That dude can handle scenes with high tension really well.Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield delivers a great performance as well.Ian McKellen's Gandalf is great,as always.

There were a few laughable moments and some that hit right in the feels that brought balance to the overall tone of the film.

CGI in this movie was pretty decent, though noticeable a lot of the times.Peter Jackson did a better job at combining practical effects and digital ones in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. However, CGI was
not what bothered me about the film(not much,at least). It was how it all came together.

If you felt that An Unexpected Journey was slow, this movie was the exact opposite.Well,to be honest,it wasn't as fast as it was rash.Things felt a bit too sudden, especially towards the end even though the events all took place within a 100 pages of the original book(so I'm told). But it still has the hint of the typical Peter Jackson cinematography, which was pretty cool to see.A few things were left unanswered, but walking out of the theater did make me feel sad that the journey was over.Just a like a seven year old feels before going to sleep on the night of his birthday.Happy that there was a party, but wish it could have lasted longer.

All in all,Battle Of The Five Armies was a good movie with pretty entertaining action, spectacle and sparks of awe and emotion. To anyone still in doubt,I'd like to clarify that I liked all the Hobbit films.Yes,The Lord Of The Rings trilogy was better, but that does not necessarily degrade the quality of the prequels.
